Integration in baseline
Status: partially implemented
The new features developped for for 1.3 need to be integrated in the current 1.2 baseline.
Contents
External queries integration
The new external query dialog provides support for PubMed and WOK, other sources can be added in the future.
The results are displayed in a dialog that makes it convenient to select the items of interest:
What's missing
[Gobry] Navigation in result sets larger than what is downloaded by default.
Word processor interaction
Status: roughly done
To try it out:
configure OpenOffice.org with the following tool: UnoConnectionListener.sxd select pipe and keep the default values
in pyblio, open Cite > Connect, select OpenOffice.org and then choose a citation format. These are the CIP files that live in Pyblio.RIP. At some point, I'll make a menu with a list of all known formats there instead.
- click on Cite to cite, and on Update to generate and update the bibliography.
What's missing
[Gobry] Proper updates when the records are edited / deleted
[Gobry] Reimplement the Format function - Citing to a file, or to a popup window?
[Gobry] The cite popup is fragile: it should follow the file currently opened, and display errors when the CIP file is invalid
Packaging
This new version of pyblio uses both what is currently called v1.2 and v1.3. The packages have been renamed to make things a bit clearer:
Old name |
New name |
pyblio-legacy-1.3 |
pyblio-1.3 |
pybliographer-1.3 |
pyblio-core-1.3 |
python-bibtex-1.2 |
python-bibtex-1.3 |
pybliographic-1.3 |
N/A |
pybliographer-1.2 will keep its current name, but at some point when pyblio-1.3 is stable, binary packages will upgrade to it.
Things that need to be kept in sync with the new names:
- arch branches
- SVN mirror
